Summer Computer Camp For Kids
Why the need for computer skills and training?
The goal of this program is to provide a comfortable and receptive environment where children can acquire keyboarding skills. Many students with a learning disability have difficulties with fine-motor, visual-motor and visual spatial tasks. Our leaders are trained to understand and guide children through the process with sensitivity to their individual needs. This course offers a “go at your own speed” opportunity for children to learn the essentials of keyboarding.
For children with a learning disability, being familiar and comfortable with a computer can aid with concentration, reduce the stresses associated with school work and assist the child in recognizing and identifying his/her own accomplishments.
Overall, our week long training camp sessions will be an opportunity for individuals to learn keyboarding and/or the features of assistive technology software at their own pace and within a supportive teaching environment.
Who Is the Program Designed For?

Parent Testimonial
“I appreciate the great experience your counsellors provided for my son at the computer camp. He learned a lot and had fun doing so. This is not an easy accomplishment, as you know. He was given a great introduction to Kurzwiel and is looking forward to using it, which is fabulous! Also, his typing skills have improved and we will continue to build on these skills throughout the year. Thank you to all the wonderful staff who contributed to my son’s positive experience at camp.”

“Both of my sons have attended the LDATD summer typing camp. One had learning disabilities and the other did not. Both benefitted from the small classes and learned to type properly. The staff was cheerful and professional.”
