Computer Skills for Seniors (CSS)

Please join our Computer Skills Club and hang out with others!

Program’s Objective:

To reduce loneliness and social isolation of older adults (50+) and seniors thorough providing them computer education

Program Activities:

  • Introduce participants to:
    • Computers basics (keyboard, mouse etc),
    • Word processing (opening/formatting documents, saving/retrieving files, etc.)
    •  Internet browsers
    •  E-mail and social networking sites
    • Other internet services (online shopping/banking, TTC, 211 etc.)
  • Allow for significant interaction among seniors leading to decreased loneliness
 Program’s Strengths:
    • One-on-one support
    • Provide with a laptop to practice the skill
    • Highly sensitive to individuals’ learning styles and needs
    • Go on your own pace
    • A welcoming, inclusive environment

Program’s Uniqueness:

  • It takes place 2 hours a day, 4 days a week
  • Ideal to increase memory capacity
  • Perfect for individuals with non-English language background
  • Highly volunteer driven program
  • Participant owned program

Who Is the Program Designed For? - Individuals 50+

Session Dates: Monday to Thursday (1:00 – 3:00 p.m.) except holidays

Location: 121 Willowdale Ave., Suite 203, Toronto, Ontario

  • It’s FREE but a $10 donation per month is greatly appreciated!
  • Light refreshments will be provided!
