LDATD Receives Grant from Ministry of Health Promotion

The LDATD has received a grant from the Ministry of Health Promotion to take our very successful S.T.Y.L.E. program East! The S.T.Y.L.E. East program provides LD specific academic tutoring with the added focus on physical activity, health and nutrition and personal wellness through social and life skills training.

This new project commenced services in October 2009 and has already recruited many students. S.T.Y.L.E. East is taking place out of 2 schools in Scarborough, Lester B. Pearson C.I. and L’Amoreaux C.I. in Scarborough.

We are grateful to the Ministry of Health Promotion for allows us to offer these much needed services to youth with learning disabilities. This program will truly make a difference in their lives – both in and out of the classroom.

LDATD Receives Grant from Youth Challenge Fund

Ldatd has received a Youth Challenge Fund grant of $379,000.00 over the next 3 years – these monies will go toward providing academic remediation, social and life skills training as well as parent workshops to 60 youth and their families.

This exciting project will commence service to the jane/finch and westminster-branson areas of toronto in september 2008.

A special thank-you to the youth challenge fund for their understanding of learning disabilities and their vision that allows us to move forward in making a defence in the lives of the youth we plan to serve.
