About Y.I.E.L.D

The Y.I.E.L.D. (Youths’ Initiative and Excellence with LD’s) is a unique program designed to support L.D. youth to gain valuable skills and increase civic engagement opportunities that will benefit them in life and work while making a difference in their community. The Y.I.E.L.D. program is free of charge!

Program Benefits

  • Earn valuable industry certifications like Project Management Training, C.P.R./First Aid, High 5 training.
  • Contribute to the community through youth engagement.
  • Attend conferences at no cost.
  • Develop excellent references for your future career by working with community stakeholders at an organizational level.
  • Gain field experience by creating and delivering a community service projects.

Program Goals

Co-Creation of Youth Community Service Projects

With the support of their facilitators, participants will create community service project(s) that will make a positive impact in their community.

Direct Civic Engagement

By engaging with community organizations, participants will be able to develop their service projects within their communities.

Professional Leadership Training

A series of certified workshops that will give you actionable leadership skills for future endeavours.

Eligibility

  • Youth who are 15 – 30 years of age.
  • Youth who struggle with the impacts of an L.D. and/or A.D.H.D.
  • Youth who are eager to learn about the social services sector, gain industry certifications and connect directly with service providers.
  • Youth who are responsible, reliable and can commit 120 hours over a period of 4 months.
